The La Manga and Mar Menor region have many great beaches , interesting places, towns, villages and other locations to visit, explore, or just sit and do nothing. Lots of " Things to do ", to keep everyone happy.

Getting about the La Manga area
There are many ways to travel to the locations of interest of the La Manga region. Planes , Trains , Taxis , Ferries and Buses are all available. City of Cartagena
Cartagena is a 15 minute drive from Cabo de Palos ( Map Ref: P10 ). Cartagena has excellent shopping - an El Cortes Ingles, several large retail parks including two Carrefour hypermarkets. The centre of Cartagena is pedestrianised. This area leads down to the modern marina/port of Cartagena. An important base for the Spanish Navy. Relax in the marina cafes/bars and watch the world go by after great shopping.

City of Murcia
Murcia is the captial of the region and is a 45 minute drive from Cabo de Palos ( Map Ref: P10 ). Murcia is the 8th largest city in Spain and as such is a typical large city. Everything is on offer (except a beach) which you would expect - History, Shopping , Entertainment, Arts and Culture , and unusually for the Murcia region, a major river.

La Manga strip
The La Manga strip streches from Cabo de Palos ( Map Ref: P10 ) to Veneziola ( Map Ref: E7 ), a distance of over 18 kilometres or 11 miles. The La Manga strip is a collection of Hotels, Apartments, Houses, Villas built on a wide sand bar between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Beautiful beaches and all supporting activities ( sailing , water sports , even kite surfing and more ) and of course, cafes, shops, bars and restaurants . More information on La Manga .....


Where-ever you are on the La Manga strip you are never far from a drink or food . Miles of beautiful beach with space for every one.

Cabo de Palos
The shallow waters here now the domain of countless divers, ended many a ships sailing days. Ascend the 51 metre lighthouse and enjoy the breathtaking views. It even has its own coral reef. Many beaches, bars and cafes on both the Mediterranean and Mar Menor sides.

Playa Paraiso
Playa Paraiso has several bars, cafes , restaurants and shops. A lovely promenade and beautiful sandy beach. Lots of space to claim as your own. Unspoilt beaches and of course the lovely warm waters of the Mar Menor.

Playa Honda
Next to Playa Paraiso and the larger of the two. This resort has a lovely feel to it, great beach, relaxed atmostphere and apartment complexes particularly Verdemar3, offering private pool use and gym access all year round. The local nightclub is close and also just far enough away.

Mar de Cristal and Islas Menores
Mar de Cristal with its collection of bars, cafes , shops and restaurants offers something for everyone. Of course it has a fabulous deep sandy beach. The bars in the marina open till very late, young and old enteratined alike. Check out Albaida to drink and eat and of course Pepe's.

Los Nietos
An old fishing village with a large marina. The population of Los Nietos grows rapidly when the warm weather arrives, the town springs to life with bars and cafes appearing before your eyes. The promenade runs the full length of its beach. Los Nietos has a train station, with a line to Cartagena.

El Algar
As El Algar is inland it has no beach. It is however, a large popular village with shops, bars and restaurants with less "touristy" prices. The beaches and the nightlife surrounding the Mar Menor are only a short drive or taxi ride away. Cartagena is nearby for all your shopping needs.

La Manga Club
The world famous La Manga Club has excellent sporting and leisure facilities - football, tennis, golf and spas. Anyone can visit and use its facilities. Adidas helicopter in David Beckham to launch new products and Europes top football teams train here before important matches.
